Cutting solution July 1st 2005 A KMT Waterjet Systems’ powered cutting machine is helping Ceramic Prints to satisfy demand for an everincreasing variety of ceramic and glass floor and wall tiles.
It enables the cutting of intricate features to be performed on the production line and allows holes of varying sizes to be cut quickly without risk of breakage or damage to the material.
The waterjet machine, made by Muototera of Finland, has a KMT Waterjet Systems’ Streamline SL-V plus high pressure intensifier that provides a maximum continuous operation pressure of 4100bar. A bed size of 1.3 by 1.3m and twin cutting heads that cut 20 by 20cm tiles, allow a production run of 18 tiles at a time to be cut in a cycle time of 3min.
Additionally, the machine is used for low-volume production runs or specials.
Information is downloaded from the design department to the machine where any profile in any thickness can be rapidly produced. More articles from KMT Waterjet Systems: |
