A year after purchasing a dedicated coolant recovery system from Clearwater Systems Ford Dagenham has benefited from increased tooling life and a reduction in coolant disposal costs.

High volume engineering, such as the production of car wheel rims, uses large amounts of coolant and Ford found it had to replace coolant frequently to ensure the quality of its products and prevent tools from being damaged.

Clearwater Systems was appointed to design and install a system that would address these issues. Marc Horn, general manager, comments “We have provided an affordable solution that included the use of vertical gravity separation to remove oil contamination. A hydrocyclone system was also introduced to remove swarf particulate that links to Ford’s existing band filter to remove large particulate.”
