COMPACT CABLE CARRIER
May 1st 2005 Kabelschlepp Metool has launched a compact version of Robotrax, its easy-access, threedimensional cable carrier for robotics and similar applications.
The device retains the features of the original Robotrax, including a virtually indestructible spinal cord of steel wire and the open structure of the individual links that make it easy to insert or demount cables.
Pre-tensioned steel wire at the core of the design is fitted with shim bolts at either end. These can be used to tighten the wire and the whole assembly. This construction allows it to cope with acceleration forces to 10g and the rapid, incessantly repeated movement characteristic of articulating arm robots. A mounting bracket can be attached to any link of the cable carrier. This two-part hinged moulding has quick-release hinge bolt for easy installation/servicing.
