Label costs cut

Wichita, a designer and manufacturer of pneumatic and hydraulic clutches, brakes, tension control systems and ancillary equipment, has reduced production costs by more than 400% with a Toshiba/Solo label solution from ERS.

The Toshiba B-SV4T desktop printer with Solo software was installed by ERS and included bespoke labels.

Wichita required a variety of aluminium labels to record unique identification information about the product.

The installation was seamless and the benefits immediate. User error has been dramatically reduced and the speed of the labelling process has increased from the hour taken for a previous system to just 2min. Label unit costs, based on Wichita's current annual production in excess of 5000 labels, have been reduced from £1.50 to 7p, a cost saving of more than £5k per year.
