Cost cutting July 1st 2005 A reduction in transport costs for a healthcare manufacturer is a key benefit derived from an in-line dilution system from Process Installations, an associate company of Pump Engineering.
The healthcare company used to have several deliveries per week of 28% Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate that took up a lot of storage space.
Now, it receives concentrated SLES and dilutes it on-site, reducing storage needs and cutting raw material costs. It no longer pays to transport large volumes of water.
Concentrated SLES is pumped from a bulk tank into a flow of deionised water from a ring main, introducing the two as a continuous stream into a high shear mixer, sized to give a uniform, fully homogenous mix in a single pass.
The solution can then be dispersed directly into batch mixing vessels at up to 12t/h. More articles from Process Installations: |
