Longer-life coolant
March 1st 2008 A range of five water soluble
cutting fluids has been introduced
by Fuchs Lubricants (UK) to
satisfy the demands of the UK
metalworking industry.
The coolants are designed to
offer optimum machining
performance and surface finish,
especially when used in modern
CNC machines, and to provide
machine cleanliness for an
improved working environment.
A key selling point of the
Ecocool Ultralife range is the
biologically hard nature of the
product. Fuchs says that during
laboratory development tests and
'real world' field trials, the product
showed slower bacterial growth
compared to standard water
soluble fluids in identical situations.
Paul Littley, R&D spokesman at
Fuchs says "Our new Ultralife
range creates an environment
where bacteria find it difficult to
proliferate. This in turn provides
extended coolant life, reduces the
need for tank side additions and
reduces maintenance and
monitoring in machine shops."
The company is also offering a
