Two-speed inline gearbox March 1st 2004 ZF Industrial offers a two-speed inline gearbox to improve the speed range of machine tools, while maintaining consistent torque delivery and accuracy.
The Duoplan is mounted directly between drive motor and spindle. The company explains that a two speed gearbox improves high and low speed machine tool performance by maintaining consistent torque across the speed range, allowing the machine to effectively tackle hard and soft materials.
Inline mounting is achieved through the use of planetary gears and is said to provide increased accuracy by reducing vibration and maintaining a highly rigid machining head assembly.
Eight sizes of gearbox are available, ranging from a frame size of M100 to 225. Output torque figures are to 12 000Nm on larger sizes. More articles from Z.F Great Britain Limited: |
