New sawing machines & bandsaw blades March 1st 2004 To be exhibited on the Rivers Machinery stand for the first time in the UK will be two new bandsawing machines and a high productivity circular saw from the German manufacturer, KASTO, which owns the 30 year old specialist supplier of sawing equipment.
A new agency line of carbide bandsawing blades from the German manufacturer HuS, will be launched at the show. In addition, there will be a working model of a KASTO Unitower automated storage and retrieval system, designed to streamline the flow of stock to and from sawing machines.
Completing the demonstrations on the stand will be various saws from the Italian manufacturer, FOM, intended for job shop and small batch production applications, primarily for aluminium industries.
The new KASTOtec Ac7 bandsawing machine has been introduced for efficient cutting of rounds up to 730mm dia or rectangular material to 830 by 730mm. The saw head contains polymer concrete to dampen vibrations and reduce noise, and has twin column guides with linear slides on the ways to prevent stick slip. Driven by an 18kW motor, the 9m by 1.6mm thick blade is available in three widths 54, 67 and 80mm for different uses.
