Weighs and sorts
March 1st 2006 A bespoke weight-sorting system has been supplied by CI Electronics to a customer in North America, demonstrating the company's ability to develop customised weighing and sorting systems that can handle virtually any product of up to 5g.
For the American order, CI's system is used to checkweigh and sort machined parts, as uniformity of weight is crucial for the correct operation of the assembled mechanism.
Other products processed by the systems range from pharmaceutical implants and stick packs to sachets and electronic components.
Where appropriate, systems can be equipped with printers to automatically generate written reports, or communications links to enable data to be stored or analysed remotely. In every case, the system's speed of operation, accuracy, materials of construction, alarm outputs and other characteristics are built to meet the customer's specification, plus any appropriate industry, national or international standards.
