Metering system improved May 1st 2008 Stable and repeatable operating
parameters are fundamental
requirements for consistent
high quality abrasive
waterjet cutting. The new
Feedline IV metering system
from KMT Waterjet
Systems has been
designed to meet these
requirements and reduce
the risk of production
downtime.
Compact and with a total
weight of just 2.8kg,
Feedline IV can be mounted
to any type of waterjet cutting
machine. It supplies the cutting
head with a constant and
accurately metered flow of
abrasive. This is said to ensure that
when the abrasive reaches the
mixing chamber in the cutting
head, where it is mixed with
water and air, there is no risk
of blockage.
For ease of maintenance
the abrasive outlet at the
base of the unit now consists
of one component with no
moving parts. A T-piece
water relief valve stops water
entering the plastic hose
through which the abrasive
is transferred to the cutting
head. Abrasive is kept dry
and, in the event of a malfunction,
production does not have to be
interrupted to clean the hose. More articles from KMT Waterjet Systems: |
