Enhanced efficiency

FICEP UK, a supplier of steel processing machinery, has supplied and installed a Tipo D8 automatic CNC punching, marking and shearing machine into DGT Steel & Cladding.

Garry Pye, DGT director, comments "Our objective in ordering the Tipo D8 CNC Flats & Angle processing line was to increase our production levels by decreasing the time taken for fabricating members (as we are now using far more bolt-on cleats), increasing throughput of the fabrication shop and improving load capacity for transport.

"All of these objectives have been met or exceeded and we have been able to redistribute some of the labour involved with the making of plate fittings which has increased our tonnage without increasing our production area. This has enabled us to offer much shorter delivery times to our customers.

"The Tipo D8 has allowed us to work efficiently by enhancing quality, reducing production time and cost, which offers benefits to all."
