Cutting edge jets
March 1st 2007 McKenna Group, manufacturer of high precision cast components, is enjoying greater efficiency after its recent installation of water jet cutting equipment supplied by Power Jet Systems of Wolverhampton. The equipment, part of PJS's 'Minijet' range, enables McKenna to quickly and thoroughly remove components from the casting runners prior to subsequent machining and heat treatment. It incorporates an abrasive management system that meters abrasive powder into the water jet cutting head, achieving a speed of up to 15m/min. The water jet is produced by a 30HP ultra high pressure generator capable of achieving a maximum operating pressure of 3,800 bar (55,000 psi). More articles from Power Jet Systems Ltd: |
