Controller for cutting machines
September 1st 2005

Designed to control medium sized portal profile cutting machines, Esab Automation’s new Vision LE provides a graphical user interface on a PC-based system that is said to be both simple yet reliable.

On-screen graphics and features such as the soft-key menu and speed potentiometer, allow fingertip control of cutting.

A library of 65 shapes allows the operator to create commonly used shapes. A simple user interface allows the operator to select the desired shape graphically, enter required dimensions, and see a graphical preview of the part before cutting the new program. Simple shapes can be programmed directly on the controller.

An 8-position joystick is provided for easy and fast machine positioning. Cutting accuracy is ensured with the kerf on the fly/kerf override. This cut width path compensation is fast and kerf width can be changed during program execution, allowing the operator to fine tune part size.
