Web cleaning
May 1st 2007 Teknek demonstrated the
capabilities of its web cleaning
systems for both narrow and wide
web applications at this year's ICE
exhibition, held in Munich.
During the show, Teknek also
launched its completely Silicone
Free ESD contact cleaning hand
roller, capable of removing dry
unattached particles down to one
micron in size. Contact web
cleaning is recognised as being an
effective method for cleaning
industrial films and papers prior to
printing, coating, laminating and
after slitting. This high surface
energy roller removes the
particulate contamination from the
substrate and transfers it to a high
coat weight, reverse-wound
adhesive roll which stores it. When
the outer layer of the adhesive is
covered, it is simply removed and
discarded. It can also be used for
analysis and assessment of the
