Environmentally friendly cleaning
November 1st 2006

Surface preparation and finishing equipment specialist Wheelabrator has added two new machines to its SmartLine range, to help industries switch to more environmentally friendly cleaning methods.

SmartLine SL28 and SL48 are manually operated aqueous systems, which use non-hazardous bioremediating detergents to remove contaminants, such as oil and grease.

The machines use a natural method of compound breakdown, encompassing enzymes and bacteria, which are contained in a special Smartwasher mat within the machine.

Clive Ward, general manager of Clean-Tek, said: "These new machines are a safer environmentally friendly alternative to solvents and chemicals. "The natural process only attacks the contaminant, not the material being cleaned."
