Clean sweep July 1st 2004 When Scarab Sweepers installed a Bystronic Bystar 3015 3kW laser profiling machine at its Tonbridge factory, it put pressure on the next process in the line - the pressbrake facilities.
After an investigation of the pressbrake market, two Bystronic IPC pressbrakes from Edwards Pearson were chosen.
The Pressure Reference (PR) and Integrated Process Control (IPC) system measures the actual material thickness, as opposed to the theoretical one, and the material springback during the bend cycle, and adjusts the pressure to produce accurate angles every time.
With hydraulic tool clamping and a motorised tool magazine, tool changes can be completed in 2 to 3min without the need to lift and carry heavy loads. They simply slide out of the tool magazine straight into the machine.
Andy Hills, fabrication manager, says With offline programming we can develop new parts away from the machine so production is not affected, and with a storage memory of 20 000 products in the Cybelec control, were unlikely to run out of space. More articles from Edwards Pearson Ltd: |
