Dual waste system May 1st 2007 A Powerkube XL from
Pakawaste has been
supplied to North West
Leicestershire's District
Council to meet its request
for a dual material waste
management system.
The Council previously
transported waste to other
sites for disposal but
wanted a system that would
allow it to reduce plastic
and cardboard waste in
preparation for recycling.
After a free site survey,
Pakawaste recommended
its Powerkube XL mill-sized
horizontal baler which
reduces waste in volume by
up to 90%. The waste is
pressed into mill-sized
bales of 1143 by 1490 by
762mm, weighing 500kg.
The machine has a
potential throughput of up
to 2000kg/h, and applies
30t of pressure, making it
suitable for a number of
different materials. Addition
of a sliding hopper and
bottle piercer allow the
operator to switch from
plastic bottles to cardboard
at the push of a button. The
unit can be hand-fed or
loaded with a large digger. More articles from Pakawaste Limited: |
