keeping the workforce cool September 1st 2004 Stannah Stairlifts overcame high summer temperatures in its warehousing complex in Hampshire by installing the Breezair evaporative air conditioning system available from Seeley International.
Temperatures in excess of 30C were reduced by up to 10C to provide the workforce with a cooler more pleasant working environment.
Two Breezair units now blow cool air over one third of the top mezzanine, while two extractor fans draw hot air from the other part of the floor.
The environmentally friendly Breezair allows doors and windows to be kept open, while providing a constant flow of naturally cooled air. The system is economic to install, cost effective to run and claims to consume less energy than conventional air-conditioning systems.
Breezair is capable of providing sufficient cool air to over flow and prevent hot air entering a building. As fresh air is continually drawn from outside, then filtered and washed, the potential for sick building syndrome, caused by constantly circulating air, is avoided.
