Check-ups for Hired Equipment January 1st 2006 About 40 boom and scissor lifts have been on hire from AFI Aerial Platforms to four different subcontractors working on a new glass bottling plant in the North West of England.
To ensure equipment operates efficiently, an AFI engineer has been visiting the Quinn Glass site at Ince in Cheshire twice a week to check over the machines.
One of those hiring AFI machines is electrical contractor HTE of Southern Ireland. It has 15 electric scissor lifts with platform heights to 6.2m, and two bienergy booms with heights of 18.2 and 10.2m.
These have been used to install power supplies, route cables and set up all the site's electrical services.
A spokesperson for HTE comments "It has been very helpful having the AFI engineer coming onto the site regularly because he has been able to resolve any problems quickly, so avoiding any delays to our work."
Machines have been supplied by SFI's Liverpool depot, that now has a fleet of 200 machines, out of an AFI total fleet of 2000 machines at 12 depots.
