Problems caused to loading ramps by salt corrosion have been solved by Bradford Hide Co since it purchased a galvanised mobile yardramp from the RentARamp division of ThorWorld Industries

Animal hides are treated with salt before despatch. Due to the corrosive conditions, with the salt getting on forklift wheels, the company had used a succession of second-hand loading ramps. This proved to be a false economy

The ThorWorld Type 7 yardramp has a 7000kg capacity, overall length of 11.4m and an overall width of 2.40m (usable width 2.24m). Incorporating safety side curbs, it is used by a Linde short mast forklift to load cattle hides and sheep skins into vehicles

Normally available with aluminium or steel superstructure, the ramp has a serrated open grid deck for positive traction in all weather.
