Energy saving, low maintenance, high speed
March 1st 2004

BID Klimate has launched The Ardent Range; Ardent, Ardent Oversize and Ardent Sidewindoor: Ardent is an external crash resistant high speed roll door with manual re-set after impact; Ardent Oversize is a special high speed door for large openings above 5m with manual re-set after impact; Ardent Sidewindoor is a horizontal bi-parting high speed door, specially designed for high traffic areas.

The range is modular, cutting maintenance costs by as much as 15%. High impact-risk components are for simple replacement by trained users, ensuring that the doors are brought quickly back into service in the event of being damaged.

The Ardent range uses gravity to tension the door, this reduces the risk of serious damage to the doors operation arising from strikes to the bottom rail and safety edge. In addition, the doors feature polycarbonate end cassettes, fitted to each end of the bottom rail, that snap on impact. The cassettes can be quickly unclipped and reinstalled without the need to replace the entire bottom rail.

The Ardent also overcomes the problem of high speed doors safety edge spiral cable being blown by the wind and getting caught in the door. It uses an energy chain that carries cable at high speed, preventing it from being trapped in the door and extending its life to 10 million door opening/closing cycles.

Designed for use with forklift trucks and other vehicles, the rapid roll doors opening and closing times are set from the motor control panel and adjustable - up to 2m per second going up and slower coming down - to reduce the risk of forklift trucks running into the door.

Two photoelectric cells for detecting vehicles approaching, ensure the door remains open, are standard. PECs configurations are also available for detecting people walking near the doors.
