LIGHTING THE WAY FOR TRAM DEPOT September 1st 2005 Cooper Lighting and Security has supplied a variety of luminaires for the maintenance depot of the Nottingham Express Transit tramway.
The lighting scheme had to provide high quality illumination, using luminaires that were sturdily constructed to withstand the rigours of such a demanding environment.
In addition, it had to include emergency lighting so that the building could be safely vacated in the event of a power failure.
Crompton Pacemaker luminaires were chosen for high-bay areas. They have a heavy-gauge galvanised steel chassis with anodised aluminium cover and are equipped with ventilated gear housing for long life.
Crompton Tufflite luminaires were favoured for lowerlevel use.
Emergency lighting was provided by Menvier Beamlite beam projectors and emergency versions of the Tufflite luminaire.
The fluorescent luminaires have high impact resistance and are sealed to IP65. The emergency version provides a 3h duration in the event of mains failure. More articles from Cooper Lighting & Security Ltd: |
