Light solution March 1st 2008 Lighting from Royal Philips
Electronics is enhancing the
medical and teaching facilities at
Raigmore Hospital near Inverness.
While patient care is paramount,
the centre was keen to ensure the
wellbeing of its staff. With this in
mind, Philips Master OptiView and
ActiViva lamps were installed in
certain areas of the hospital.
In the surgery recovery area,
Philips OctiView replaced T8
halophosphate fluorescents lamps
and allow greater accuracy of
patient diagnosis. Having a colour
rendering index Ra>90, OptiView
is suitable for good visual
observation of skin colour and
makes it easier, for example, to
locate veins. The lamps have also
been installed in all theatres.
Benefits include longer service life
and lower operating costs.
Headaches experienced by admin
staff are fewer since the installation
of Philips Master ActiViva lamps.
The blue-rich light stimulates the
biological clock and is said to
make people feel more energised. More articles from Philips Lighting: |
