Cab makers welcome a breath of fresh air
March 1st 2008

Acombination of Clean Air Group's technical know-how and Seeley International Europe's Breezair evaporative cooling is providing London Taxis International (LTI), manufacturer of the famous 'black cab' with the solution to high temperatures in its workshop in Coventry.

LTI's workshop is in a metalframed building with a corrugated iron roof. The combination of the building's design and the heat generated from welding equipment and a lack of air movement pushed workshop temperatures to 40°C in summer. The high temperature, combined with welding fumes, created a debilitating and unhealthy working environment.

Now, two Breezair coolers are installed on an outside wall with air ducted via a grill into the welding area of the workshop. They provide a steady flow of cooled air that has reduced temperatures and dispelled fumes.

Noise is said to be minimal and energy consumption low.

Such has been the success of the installation Clean Air has now installed Breezair coolers in LTI's offices.
