Condition monitoring software upgrade
May 1st 2005

The Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems has introduced enhanced condition monitoring (CM) software that empowers plant operations and maintenance personnel to work collaboratively and improve asset reliability. The enhanced Avantis condition monitoring solution not only collects and aggregates realtime data from plant floor systems, but also provides analysis of that data to drive preventive and predictive maintenance activity.

"Traditional predictive and condition monitoring systems collect real-time data, but leaves it the end user to interpret and act on underlying trends and diagnostics. The Avantis condition monitoring solution provides an intuitive configuration tool, matched with an analytic engine, expert system capabilities, and workflow management.

The end result is an intelligent work package, containing all pertinent information to safely execute the required maintenance activity," said Neil Cooper, general manager of the Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems.

Based on Microsoft.NET software technology, the CM software leverages data from industry-leading plant historians, modelling engines and field device monitoring solutions.

Real-Time Condition Monitoring is a cornerstone of the Invensys plant asset management solution.

The solution combines best of breed enterprise asset management (EAM) software from Avantis with the automation expertise of Foxboro, Triconex, SimSci-Esscor and Wonderware.
