The HVCA says that adherence to the standards contained in the guide will provide clear and detailed proof that the ventilation system in a building is safe and well maintained, vital for securing adequate insurance cover.

The guide, priced £50, details further improvements that can be made to best practice standards, with particular reference to kitchen extract systems.
