Spotting energy loss July 1st 2006 Thermal imaging is now considered a vital tool in the armoury of any building constructor or maintenance professional to minimise energy loss. FLIR Systems has been the architect of most of the major developments in the field and with the launch of the world's first 640 x 480 camera it has again driven the technology forward significantly.
This new model the ThermaCAM P640 provides four times the resolution of any other model on the market. Whereas a standard 320 x 240 focal plane array has 76,800 pixels it has 307,200. More pixels equate to far better image detail allowing smaller targets to be spotted and measured accurately at greater distances. The field of view of ThermaCAM P640 is larger and therefore fewer images need to be taken. On average 25% fewer images are required on a typical survey, getting the job done quicker and more efficiently. More articles from Flir Systems Ltd: |
