Ir thermography March 1st 2007 InfraTec describes as 'a world first' its portable, uncooled microbolometer thermographic camera with 1.23 megapixel resolution. The technology is said to provide the highest quality thermographic resolution, image detail and sharpness and to open up the use of infrared thermography to many new industries and applications. The VarioCAM camera, designed and manufactured by Jenoptik Laser, is of modular design and uses a carefully selected uncooled microbolometer Focal Plane Array detector with a choice of 384 x 288 or 640 x 480 pixels. Combined with an optomechanical resolution enhancement function, resolutions of 768 x 576 or 1280 x 960 pixels respectively can be obtained continuously, enabling thermographers to evaluate images in detail and with a high level of accuracy |
