Circular corona electrode

The latest Pillar Technologies corona discharge treatment systems, developed and manufactured by ITW surface treatment, now feature a design of large diameter, ceramic circular discharge electrodes. The new technology is said to improve the air flow beneath the treatment head and over the discharge face of each electrode. This increases cooling effects and as a result, it is possible to run each electrode at a higher power output, enhancing treatment levels and to extend electrode operating life.

The system also features a simplified mounting arrangement, designed to accommodate thermal expansion of the electrodes in operation. This eliminates the potential problem of bowling along the length of each electrode, and ensures that the gap between the electrode face and base roll remains consistent at all times.
