Consistent colours May 1st 2008 Reading Rock, a Cincinnati
machine made veneer and
decorative cast stone
manufacturer, has taken up
the VeriColour Spectro from
X-Rite. "Accurate colour
matching has been a
problem that has plagued
our industry for years," says
Kevin Calandra, Reading
Rock's senior vice
president. "We finally have
an instrument that will allow
us to match colours in our
RockCast cast stone
products consistently."
The VeriColour spectro is
a spectrophotometer
hardened to withstand
tough industrial
environments while offering
the same relative colour
measuring accuracy as
laboratory-confined models
at a lower cost than the
older technology. The
instrument is installed on
Reading Rock's production
line and gives precise
colour readings every 30
seconds without coming
into contact with the stone
under demanding
conditions.
"Every part of the
outside of the building has
to look consistent," adds
Calandra. "If the colour
doesn't match well, it really
sticks out as a defect to
everyone." More articles from X-Rite Europe AG: |
