A range of pipes and fittings from Durapipe UK has been used within an expansion of Autoglym's factory in Letchworth.

The company recently constructed a new production plant to increase productivity. As part of the project, the company required a pipework system suitable for conveying a range of chemicals that are mixed together to produce its products.

Brimair Engineering has supplied Durapipe PVC-U pipe in sizes ranging to 2in.

In addition, due to the automated nature of the production process, Durapipe UK was asked to supply a number of actuated valves to achieve production requirements.

The pipework allows the safe transportation of many acids, alkalis and chemical concentrates, without fear of corrosion or environmental pollution.

The lightweight product is easy to handle on site, and it can be solvent welded, reducing labour time and cost.

Autoglym was impressed by the technical support it received from Durapipe staff who have considerable experience of thermoplastic piping systems.
