Putting an end to corkscrews? September 1st 2004 A new control cable from igus (UK) is said to be the first of its kind to efficiently eliminate corkscrews in 4- and 8-core cables and is suitable for high-risk applications.
The plaited cores of the Chainflex CFBRAID series means virtually no internal tension occurs within the stranded structure.
Corkscrews are prevented and the risk of core breakage is reduced.
The company says the new cable guarantees the reliability of constantly moving Energy Chain Systems, including those with travel distances to 500m, or confined bending radii. It comes in unshielded and shielded versions (cross sections from 6mm).
The ‘no corkscrews’ design is available across the Chainflex cable range. More articles from igus (UK) Limited: |
