Motors meet new standards
May 1st 2007

ABB Process Performance motors are now available with NEMA standards, meeting the needs of exporting OEMs wishing to target process industries in countries operating to these specifications. The totally enclosed, fan-cooled, three-phase squirrel cage type motors are available with 2,4,6 or 8 poles in frame sizes from 404 to 588, offering a power output from 100 to 800 horsepower.

Cooling fins are included on the end shield of the motors for the first time. When selecting motors for variable speed use, a number of considerations should be taken into account. These are all outlined in a free 28-page brochure produced by ABB.
