RTU equipment
May 1st 2007 New processor technology has
been maximised in a new
Converteam development that
further enhances its T5000 range of
Remote Terminal Unit (RTU)
equipment. The all-new T5500
main processor module is claimed
to significantly improve monitoring
and control facilities for electrical
sub-station plant, without replacing
the entire T5000
RTU and
associated
equipment.
Its powerful
capability
includes four
serial
communication
channels
together with
two Ethernet
ports, which
enable further serial channels to be
added via network-attached
devices.
This provides a virtually limitless
capability for all necessary
connections such as control
centres, satellite RTUs or local
IEDs. TCP/IP protocols for the
Ethernet ports are said to enable
faster connections and high-speed
data communications. |
