GREASE CHANGE BRINGS SAVINGS November 1st 2004 Crown Food UK & Ireland has seen a decrease of more than 60% in the amount of power used by its can beading machine since making the switch to Foodlube Universal 2 from Rocol Lubricants.
The grease previously used by Crown to lubricate critical areas of the can beading machine at its Worcester plant resulted in a series of costly break-downs over a nine-month period. The company decided to source a multi-purpose NSF H1 grease that would prevent such problems.
Since changing to Rocol Foodlube in October 2003, there has not been a single breakdown or failure of any machine component, and engineers have reported a 50% reduction in the use of grease.
Manufacturing manager, Dave Minton, says The reduction in breakdowns and the cost savings generated as a result of the switch are simply staggering. We are also impressed by the aftercare. More articles from ROCOL Site Safety Systems: |
