Northshore in Chichester manufactures luxury yachts. To meet increasing demand, the company needed a new 10 000ft2 boat building premises.

One of the features that needed particularly careful planning was the site's compressed air system.

Northshore was familiar with installing John Guest Speedfit plumbing on its yachts and was confident it could install the compressed air system itself.

A benefit of the John Guest system is the ease in which connections are made simply cut the pipe and push it into a fitting. The internal arrangement within the fitting grips the pipe making it secure. An 'O' ring provides a leak proof seal.

The route of the pipe included connections to power terminals for each work bay. As both fittings and pipe are lightweight, the pipe was easily fixed to the underside of raised walkways. The installation was made up a mixture of aluminium and Nylon pipe.
