Uncovers intermittent and hard-to-find power quality issues

New Fluke power quality loggers
September 19th 2006

Fluke has extended its range of 3-phase power quality loggers with the Fluke 1740 Series. Designed to simultaneously log up to 500 parameters for up to 85 days, the new series helps to uncover intermittent and hard-to-find power quality issues for technicians troubleshooting and analysing power distribution systems. Each compact instrument is supplied with powerful software and triple-range current probes.

The new Fluke 1740 Series Three-Phase Power Quality Loggers offers rapid plug-and-play setup for analysing disturbances, validating incoming power compliance, capacity verification before adding loads, and energy and power quality assessment before and after improvements. The unit takes its power from the system being logged in installations up to 660V.

Stored data can be downloaded to a PC even while recording is taking place. The powerful PQ Log software supplied with the unit quickly assesses the quality of power at the service entrance, a substation or at the load according to EN50160 standards. It quickly analyses trends, creates statistical summaries and generates detailed graphs and tables.

The Fluke 1743, 1744 and 1745 all measure the common power parameters – V, A, W, VA, VAR, PF, energy, flicker, voltage events and THD. The 1744 and 1745 also measure voltage and current harmonics up to the 50th and unbalance. The instruments’ compact, rugged bodies are fully insulated so they can fit in tight spaces next to live power cables: the 1745 is protected to IP50, while the 1743/1744 offer water protection up to IP65.

All models are supplied with 4 shielded, flexible current probes (15A/150A/100A and 3000A), test leads for voltages and power, a soft carry case and PQ Log software. Livingston UK, as a key rental partner for Fluke industrial test tools, has recently expanded its portfolio to include Fluke’s wide range of Power Quality tools: the new Fluke 1740 Power Quality Logger will be a key addition for its rental customers.
