High-reliability AC drive range

Baldor says its H2 range of AC drives are configurable for every motor control application, from simple speed adjustment to advanced positioning.

H2 drives are available in open- or closed-loop variants, supporting inverter, encoderless vector and closed-loop vector modes of motor control. There is also a range for servo motor applications up to 18.5 kW. The closed-loop variant features a fourth-generation space-vector control algorithm for fast and steady motor control as temperature and loading conditions fluctuate. This sheer choice of speed control, combined with a modular expansion bus and option range, provides optimised solutions for adjustable speed applications. Positioning software, supporting 15 different profiles as standard, including point-to-point moves is included, and works without additional hardware.

Among the plug-in networking options (Modbus is standard) are DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, and Ethernet TCP/IP (which can function as an HTTP web server).

The H2 family offers power ratings up to 93 kW. Baldor also offers a choice of units up to 7.5 kW power ratings in washdown duty enclosures.

According to the company, reliability is built in. Protection modes guard against mis-use, and the manufacturing process embraces stress testing and full-load final testing.
