Lightweight & low cost robot energy chain
November 30th 2005

igus has launched a lightweight, low cost version of its Triflex R robot energy chain.

Used by the likes of Bayer and Daimler Chrysler Triflex’s round-shaped design means it glides around the outer contours of a robot without becoming hooked in and jammed.

Available in four sizes, the modular Energy Chain has been developed for applications including tool changers, calibration and automatic image processing equipment, laser, adhesive or handling applications.

Users can shorten the chain at any point. According to igus UK MD, David Chapman, this “not only guarantees variability, it means there is no waste whatsoever”.
