Roof safety system passes the lab test May 1st 2008 Safesite has completed the
installation of a substantial
roof safety system for
Daresbury Laboratory in
Warrington, to enable safe
access to the facilities' roofs
for maintenance purposes.
The equipment installed
comprises about 2000m of
Safesite's System 2000
freestanding guardrail in
addition to its Horizontal
Lifeline System.
System 2000 offers a
solution where regular
access is required. The
guardrail's freestanding
design means that it does
not need to be
mechanically fixed to the
roof. This overcomes the
risk of damage to the roof's
membrane which can
cause water penetration,
costly repairs and insurance
invalidation.
For areas where guardrail
was not suitable, the
company's top-fix
Horizontal Lifeline allows
operatives to work safely at
high level around the roof
area without restrictions on
movement.
Daresbury Laboratory,
impressed by the efficiency
and professionalism shown
by Safesite, has asked the
company to carry out
additional work. More articles from Safesite Limited: |
