High degree of slip resistance March 1st 2006 Docklands Light Railway has recently undertaken a refit of its service stations. Its existing maintenance platform was constructed in metal and, although it was strong, DLR felt that it lacked the properties required to exceed its safety conditions.
As a low maintenance and costeffective alternative, DLR selected a Figreglass Grating decking system. The company says the grating has one of the highest degrees of slip-resistance ever measured for a walking surface - especially in wet, oily or frosty work areas.
The integral gritted anti-slip top provides long-lasting slip resistant qualities. The material has good corrosion resistance.
For Docklands Light Railway, the 135m wash bay platform was installed by a four man team in just two days, with minimum disruption.
It is expected to provide a low maintenance, safe surface for many years to come. More articles from Dura Composites Ltd: |
