Competency is the key to safe working at height
May 1st 2008 In support of the Health and
Safety Executive's (HSE)
'Shattered Lives' campaign, APlant
has introduced a new
initiative, 'Be Safe, Be Competent,
Choose A-Plant'. It aims to raise
awareness of risks involved in
working at height and the actions
that should be taken to minimise
the dangers.
The campaign promotes the
importance of competency when
working at height, measured by the
experience, knowledge and
qualifications that enable a worker
to identify the risks arising from a
situation and the measures that
need to be taken to work safely.
The campaign emphasises that
undertaking a work at height
activity requires training in the
selected system of work and with
any particular work equipment
chosen. A-Plant offers solutions for
work at height with the company's
range of powered access
equipment and training services.
A-Plant Powered Access has a hire
fleet comprising almost 2000 items
of equipment to meet access
