One compact control package
September 1st 2007

Manufacturers wanting to reduce their installed costs while improving the productivity of their employees by incorporating flexible and programmable safety solutions into their machine design have a new, cost effective option from Rockwell Automation.

The Allen-Bradley SmartGuard 600 safety controller measures 101 by 89 by 127mm and is designed for those applications that have traditionally fallen between safety relays and safety PLCs.

The new controller helps reduce wiring and installation costs, and interfaces with programmable controllers to help manufacturers integrate standard and safety systems for increased productivity.

The SmartGuard 600 safety controller integrates 16 safetyrelated inputs, eight safety related outputs, four pulse test sources, a USB port for configuration and a DeviceNet port that supports both standard and CIP Safety communication into a single, compact package.
