Extracts the dust
January 1st 2005

Muntons has expanded the Nilfisk- Advance fixed cleaning system it uses at its Flamborough maltings near Bridlington. An additional industrial vacuum system now complements equipment for extracting dust generated by the handling and storage of dry grain.

The new custom-designed cleaning system has been installed in the main malt processing building and consists of a heavy duty IV 150 industrial suction unit and 1200L collection vessel.

Suitable for fixed systems, the IV 150 has a 15kW side channel blower.

The equipment replaces a Nilfisk-Advance system that has been relocated to an adjacent multi-storey steeping unit. Still in good working order, the system’s GB 1033 industrial vacuum has been augmented with a 900L hopper and new steel pipework to provide a vacuum outlet point on each of the building’s nine floors.

The systems are easy to use; operatives simply locate the nearest flap outlet point, pick up a hose and switch on.
