Alcohol test before key release May 1st 2007 Traka has configured its ACS
Alcolock alcohol tester to work with
its Traka electronic key cabinets.
This means that drivers of vehicles
or users of other sensitive
equipment must pass a breath test
before keys may be withdrawn.
After opening the Traka cabinet
using PIN, access card or
biometrics reader, the user selects
the required key. However, before
the key is released, the system
display requests the user to blow
into the Alcolock.
After a 5sec blow the system will
confirm 'pass' or 'fail'. Only if
passed will the key be released.
Details of a 'fail' situation will be
logged in the Traka database
with the user's name.
The Traka integration
provides a compulsory breath
test before the keys can be
released and is a cost
effective method for ensuring
staff are safe before driving or
using equipment where
excessive alcohol levels may
cause danger or impair
judgement. More articles from Traka Plc: |
