Freestanding counterweight anchor for flat roofs March 1st 2008 A free-standing counterweight anchor has been introduced by DBI-Sala, a Capital Safety brand. The non-penetrating anchor provides fall protection for those working on flat roofs or structures.
The non-penetrating feature reduces the possibility of damage to the anchoring structure and eliminates costly and timeconsuming installation. It also features ergonomically-designed counterweights. Made of cast iron, the counterweights weigh 20kg each. They have a carrying handle and recessed pockets to eliminate finger pinching, while installing and stacking the counterweights.
Pete Blackburn, product manager with Capital Safety, comments “The freestanding counterweight anchor is ideal for companies that require roof top anchorages with the benefits of easy installation and no penetration to the roof structure.
The non-penetrating and ergonomic design will be an asset for workers on the move.”
Made with a built-in shockabsorbing post, the anchor provides safety to the user as well as the structure. The device is fall arrest rated for one user and has been approved for use on five different roof types including concrete, single ply membrane, bitumen, asphalt sanded, and asphalt stone chipping. All of Capital Safety’s fall protection and rescue systems are backed by training, technical assistance and customer service.
The company will be exhibiting at Safety & Health Expo.
