Finalist focuses on flexible frames August 6th 2008 A finalist in the BSIF Product Innovation Awards 2008, Forceflex is a new safety spectacle from JSP that uses the latest technologies and materials to achieve a high degree of impact protection, flexibility and durability.
Frames are made from Thermoplastic Polyurethane and are moulded around the hardcoated polycarbonate lenses using a Captive Injection System.
This process of bonding the lens to the frame creates an impact protection that exceeds the 120m/sec military ballistic eye protection requirement (well in excess of EN166.1.F requirements of 45m/sec).
This process allows a high degree of flexibility; the spectacles can be bent, folded and twisted in any direction without snapping, making them suitable for use in tough working environments.
Other advantages stated for this flexibility include absorption and cushioning of any impact, as well as comfort and a custom-fit; the supple frame casing simply adjusts to fit the wearer's face. |
