January 1st 2007 Safetyworks & Solutions has provided Jersey General Hospital with equipment that enables operatives to undertake maintenance tasks at height in a safe and secure manner. The project required a walkways and barrier system that would allow restrictive access to plant, and an occasional system installation that would ensure easy access for maintenance of gutters, etc. For safe access to the roof, the company made and installed access steps and a ladder, and for safe movement around the roof it supplied its Easyguard 2 clamp-on handrail system, in conjunction with a Flexideck walkway system. A Uniline 8mm stainless steel system was installed to the perimeter allowing hands-free protection along the length of the system. The operator is attached via a link device that glides over brackets without needing to detach from the fall protection system.
