Less damage
September 1st 2004

Six multi-direction sideloaders built for window profile maker WHS Halo by Sidetracker Engineering have a safety system that prevents them moving sideways before the fork carriages are fully retracted.

Trucks work in aisles just 100mm wider than they are, so the customer wanted to reduce the potential for damage caused by travelling without the 1200mm long forks fully retracted. A logic circuit with mast position sensors is now included that stops the transmission working in the sideways direction unless the reach carriage is fully engaged with the truck chassis.
