Protection for columns and racking systems
September 1st 2004 Warehouse managers can now protect their racking and building columns against expensive and potentially life-threatening structural damage following the launch of the Rack Sentry and Column Sentry from Hi-Lo Storage Systems.
The semi-flexible, moulded plastic guards are quickly and easily attached to racking or columns to form a protective bumper that minimises the force of fork truck collision that can damage racking frames, structural columns, vehicles and operators.
Designed to fit all standard European racking uprights, the Rack Sentry is easily fitted around the feet of racking systems and secured by Velcro straps. The nine angled pockets strategically placed throughout each unit carefully deflect any impact energy away from the racking to provide effective protection against most collision damage.
Available in a range of sizes to suit different structural columns, Column Sentry has 24 angled pockets around its circumference to help deflect impact energy away from the column flanges to eliminate sideslip when hit from any angle. Simply positioned in two halves, it removes the need for gravel ballast or concrete protectors.
Moulded from a semi-flexible and stress-crack resistant UV stabilised plastic, both systems use an integral air cushion that forces air out at a controlled rate during impact. More articles from HiLo-PSS Group: |
